I really enjoyed Shantell's. The service was great, and Shantell herself was very kind and very engaging. My Chicken and Waffles and Corn Bread with the signature peach tea was delightful! My girlfriend had the pancakes breakfast meal and her pancakes were good also. We also had the Fried Green Tomatoes for our appetizer. Everything was seasoned very well. I would love to go back and try other menu items! I highly recommend this place.
After listening to Primetime Kitchen and hearing Jim Colbert rave about this restaurant, I finally made it last night when I realized that it was right across the street from the wine shop that we were at. I’m a huge lover of good grits so I had to try those along with the jerk shrimp. It was a perfect combination. The grits have a nice, unique taste with coconut milk. They were smooth and savory but not lumpy. And the jerk shrimp was spiced to perfection. We both enjoyed our meals and liked sitting outside on a Friday night and taking in all of the activity. We’d definitely return.
First time here, had the Chicken & Waffles, and it was delicious, all that I hoped for. The skin was crispy, and the meat was juicy - even/especially the large breast piece. Nice easy vibe here too. 🙂
